Breaking Barriers podcast - Neurodiversity

This week on the Breaking Barriers podcast we take a look at the obstacles to employment and career progression thrown up by conditions such as Autism. How can businesses truly embrace neurodiversity?

Nicky Priest, is an aspiring theatre actor who lives with Asperger syndrome and describes himself as having an Autism Spectrum Condition. Jacqui O’Hanlon is the Director of Education at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Here we listen in as the pair meet at the prestigious Hippodrome Theatre in Birmingham to discuss their shared love of the stage, how important it is for people to see themselves in roles to fuel confidence and ambition and how certain Shakespearean messages are still as relevant today as they were 400 years ago. Nicky also reveals how the RSC may have barriers of its own too.

Throughout this series, presented by Yassmin Abdel-Magied, you’ll hear six inspiring, intimate and frank conversations between those who hold power in sought-after industries and the people struggling to find their way due to a variety of barriers that life throws up.
